In the summer of 2021, Banksy bought an old camper van, loaded up on spray cans and stencil and took a trip to a sleepy seaside town, in a forgotten corner of East England, called Great Yarmouth.
Over several days, he drops 10 pieces across the town and the local area. A gift to a community.
He verifies he is the artist by releasing a film, ‘The Great British Spraycation’.
The news of Banksy’s biggest ever drop spreads across the world. Banksy experts gather in Great Yarmouth and the art market descends like vultures.
All of the art Banksy gifted to the town has either been vandalised, removed and sold at auction, or is sprayed onto peeling & mouldy walls, destined to be erased by time and the damp seaside air.
