Banksy’s piece on The House is very different from much of his work. NO SATIRE. NO POLITICAL MALARKY. SO…
This intrigued us so we went deep on the research and WE think we have uncovered the idea that inspired the art, in an old Bansky quote from his book Walls & Piece

OUR THEORY
FOR WHAT IT’S WORTH, This is what we think happened AND WE’RE STICKING WITH IT UNLESS BANKSY TELLS US OTHERWISE.

THE TOWN
Banksy discovers that Great Yarmouth, a fading jewel of british seaside culture, is applying for UK City of Culture (a long shoT) and decides to help the town OUT.

THE LOCATION
He spots the landmark Victorian gas cylinder on the horizon, that leads him to the house and the bus stop.

THE QUOTE
Either consciously or not, his old bus stop quote inspires the art.
“WHERE STANDING AT A BUS STOP WAS NEVER BORING”
BEING NEVER BORING
So now the art has a name AT LEAST - ‘Never Boring’ - and the quote becomes a guiding vision for how we are going to use the house .
